Foundation Support

Cedar Rapids Symphony Foundation In 1990 the CRSO established the Cedar Rapids Symphony Foundation, an independent, private, non-profit corporation to hold in perpetuity funds received through bequests and other deferred and cash gifts for the benefit of the CRSO Association.

"The mission of the Cedar Rapids Symphony Foundation is to provide economic stability, growth and contingency funding to the Cedar Rapids Symphony Orchestra through the development, management and disbursement of the endowment funds of the Foundation."

Growth of the endowment fund of the Cedar Rapids Symphony Foundation is necessary to guarantee the symphony's future. These funds will be carefully invested to assure a continuity of income and protection of principal, furthering the following objectives:
  • Artistic growth and development, leading to an increased ability to serve eastern Iowa
  • Expansion and maintenance of the Cedar Rapids Symphony School and its education/outreach programs in eastern Iowa
  • Services to special audiences such as the elderly, physically challenged, at-risk youth and non-traditional audiences
Gifts to the foundation help keep ticket costs affordable, provide additional funding to the symphony as government support continues to decline, guarantee a reliable level of operational support in an atmosphere of corporate change, and help keep the annual fund campaign at a reasonable and attainable goal.
