Symphony Week 2007: State of the Symphony (Special Announcement)

Sight and Sound: An Evening with the Masters

The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art and the Cedar Rapids Symphony are once again teaming up to host Sight & Sound, the biennial gala fundraising event that supports programming at both arts organizations. Sight & Sound 2007 will take place on Saturday, November 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at the Cedar Rapids Country Club. This year’s event, deemed “An Evening with the Masters," includes both a live and silent auction (featuring stunning works of art, vacation packages and much, much more), eight exciting raffle packages (including trips to Chicago, New York, Florida just to name a few), entertainment by The Craig Bentley Group, delicious food and drinks, and so much more!

Join the Cedar Rapids Symphony as we present the Second Annual Valentine’s Progressive Dinner!  This evening of fine dining and entertainment begins at Biaggs with an assortment of tantalizing appetizers and a beverage of your choosing.  Then travel to Marion to taste and experience one of three mouth-watering entrees at Cibo.  The evening will continue at the Paramount Theatre as the Cedar Rapid Symphony performs Masterworks V: Idyllic Vistas, featuring guest conductor Daniel Kleinknecht.  Lastly, please join us following the concert to sample four delectable desserts at Zins.

The Evening at a Glance:

Biaggis
Begin your evening with your choice of appetizers and a drink of your choosing.

Cibo
Choose one of the following three mouth-watering entrees:
♥ 10 oz Fillet: Grilled 10 oz beef tenderloin filet served with a cracked pepper demi glace, grilled vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes
♥ Red Snapper: Herb crusted red snapper filet., pan seared and served with a light lemon beurre blanc, grilled asparagus and cous cous.
♥  Chicken Saltimbocca En’ Croute: Chicken breast wrapped in a puff pastry, stuffed with fresh sage, goat cheese & prosciutto. Served with grilled asparagus and cilantro lime rice.

Masterworks V: Idyllic Vistas
Guest conductor Daniel Kleinknecht and the Cedar Rapids Symphony will perform Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll, Copland’s Appalachian Spring and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6.

Enjoy a little of everything!  Each plate includes: Turtle Cheesecake, Lemon Meringue Pie, Panna Cotta and Chocolate Torte.
